Innovation

The main innovation of this project, which corresponds to the objectives expressed above, is the achievement of an intelligent management system for electricity networks that is able to take into account the economic parameters of the liberalised electricity market, as well as the purely technical ones.

This management system will also be tested in a hierarchical system with several electrical networks that are physically distant from each other and that have different patterns of renewable energy generation and of industrial, office and even residential consumption. To acquire the data that this system needs, different monitoring and communications technologies will be tested, in order to apply the best technique in each case, to improve them and to develop proprietary technology for configurations for which commercial solutions do not yet exist.

Also, the project will explore the possibilities of small-scale hydrogen generation for domestic use, for example, in electric cars with fuel cells.
